Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Genoa for the transfer of Radu Dragusin.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the two clubs have reached a ‘full agreement’ this morning and Tottenham will pay a fee of around €25 million plus add-ons. The defender is expected to sign a contract until 2029 with the north London club.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano claims that the deal will include Djed Spence on loan until the end of the season as well. The 23-year-old recently returned from his loan spell at Leeds United after the deal was terminated by the championship club. He needs to play regularly and moving to Genoa could be ideal for him.
It will be interesting to see if Spence can get his career back on track with regular football in Italy. Meanwhile, Dragusin could be a long-term asset for Tottenham if he manages to adapt to the Premier League quickly.
Spurs were in desperate need of defensive reinforcements and the transfer of Dragusin could prove to be a huge boost for them. The 21-year-old Romanian has shown his quality in Italian football and he will now look to make his mark in England.
Spurs will need to finish the season strongly in order to secure Champions League qualification and the 21-year-old defender could be an important player for them during the second half of the season.
