Tottenham to hand 15-cap international a chance to prove his worth next season

Radu Dragusin will get the opportunity to work his way into Ange Postecoglou’s plans next season.

Dragusin has been linked with a move away from the North London club in recent weeks due to his lack of significant playing time in the first team. But, according to a report from Football Insider, Spurs have no intentions of sanctioning his departure and they will hand him an opportunity to prove his mettle next season.

Ange Postecoglou was keen on adding more depth to his backline during the winter transfer window. Despite interest from clubs across Europe, the North London club won the race for the services of Dragusin and signed him from Genoa in January.

Since making the move to Tottenham, the 22-year-old centre-back has only featured in a total of seven Premier League games and he has been on the pitch for less than 250 minutes. The lack of game time hasn’t gone down well with the player as well as his agent.

The 15-cap Romanian international’s representative has publicly hinted towards a potential exit if he doesn’t get enough minutes in the future.

Despite the agent’s comments and reports linking him with a move away from the club, the report suggests that Dragusin will be handed an opportunity to play his way into Postecoglou’s squad in the 2024/25 season.

With Tottenham all set to participate in a European competition next season, the 22-year-old will get enough opportunities to cement his place in the team alongside the current first-choice pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

It remains to be seen whether he can grab those opportunities and impress the manager.
