Ansu Fati has been linked to the move away from Barcelona at the end of the season and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on securing his services.
A report from Mundo Deportivo claims that they will face competition from Premier League rivals, Manchester United, who are looking to sign the 20-year-old as well.
Fati has not been a regular starter for Xavi Hernandez this season and he might need to leave Barcelona in order to play regularly.
The 20-year-old was once regarded as one of the finest talents to have come out of the La Masia Academy, but his development has stalled because of injuries.
He has fallen down the pecking order at the Spanish club and Tottenham could look to provide him with an exit route at the end of the season.
The report adds that Tottenham would be willing to make him the most expensive signing in their history.
Fati has seven goals and three assists to his name across all competitions to season and it remains to be seen whether he’s open to moving to the Premier League.
If Tottenham can promise him regular game time, the Spanish international could be tempted to move to the London club.
Fati needs to play regularly in order to fulfil his potential but he has players like Raphinha and Ousmane Dembélé ahead of him in the pecking order at Barcelona. It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months.
Meanwhile, the report from Mundo Deportivo also claims that Fati has welcomed the interest of clubs like Tottenham in securing his services but he has no plans to leave the Spanish club just yet. He has informed Jorge Mendes that he plans to continue at Barcelona and he believes that he will be able to win over the trust of the manager and establish himself as a key player at the Spanish club.
