Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has been sacked by the club following his explosive remarks after the game against Southampton.
The Italian criticised his players and questioned their attitude and commitment towards the club.
A report from London Evening Standard has now revealed how the Tottenham players reacted to the 53-year-old’s departure.
The report claims that many of the players were relieved that they would not have to work with the Italian manager anymore.
It shows that Conte lost the dressing room at Tottenham and therefore it was the right time for the club hierarchy to part ways with him. It is highly unlikely that the Italian would have got the best out of its players anymore.
Apparently, the players were also tired of his repetitive training sessions and his tendency to blame them after poor results.
It will be interesting to see who comes in as a replacement for the Italian now.
Tottenham have been linked with managers like Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann.
Both managers are currently out of a job and they could prove to be exciting additions to the north London club.
If they refuse to take over in the middle of the season, Tottenham might look to appoint an interim manager until the summer.
Tottenham are currently fighting for a place in the Champions League next season and they will have to be diligent with their managerial appointment. They must look to bring in someone who can get the team firing once again.
