Tottenham player’s camp receive transfer instructions from club looking to sign him

Sevilla want Bryan Gil to be patient as they look to re-sign him from Tottenham Hotspur.

Ange Postecoglou’s squad are expected to undergo a major overhaul in the summer which could result in quite a few players leaving the club.

Bryan Gil is one of the players who is expected to be on the move and according to a report from VamosMiSevillafc, Sevilla are keen on having him in their squad and have given the player’s camp transfer instructions.

Gil was a part of the Sevilla youth setup before he made the move to Tottenham in the summer of 2021. Spurs forked out a significant fee to have him in their squad. But, unfortunately, the move hasn’t gone according to plan as the 23-year-old hasn’t lived up to the expectations.

He has had less than 300 minutes for first-team action in the 2023/24 season. With the Spanish international not a part of Spurs’ plans moving ahead, a departure away from the club looks certain.

Sevilla are the ones interested in re-signing him but the negotiations with Tottenham won’t be straightforward as his return could be close to four times less than what the North London club had paid.

The Spanish club are well aware of the fact that the 23-year-old is surplus to requirements and Spurs will look to offload him in the summer. As a result, they have established contact with the player’s representatives and have asked them to be patient. Sevilla’s sporting director Victor Orta has asked them to wait for the deal to be completed.

For Sevilla to sign their former youth product, they will have to agree on a loan move with a mandatory purchase clause and as per the report, the Spanish club won’t go over €6 million on the purchase clause. It will be interesting to see how things pan out from here.
