Tottenham once again linked with striker boasting 69 goals & 15 assists – one to watch for a summer move

As the January transfer window approaches its conclusion, Tottenham Hotspur have already identifying targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reports suggest that Spurs are in the market for another centre-forward, with several names, including Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord, being linked to the club.

Additionally, Lille’s Jonathan David is also being considered as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

Despite Richarlison’s recent impressive form, with six goals in his last six Premier League starts and seven goals in 18 league appearances this season, and the recent signing of Timo Werner on loan,  there is still a reported interest in securing a striker with a more prolific goal-scoring figures.

Ben Jacobs, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, mentioned Jonathan David is another striker on Tottenham’s radar for the summer transfer window, along with Zirkzee and Gimenez.

He said:

“Zirkzee is an interesting one as we talk about the summer, there are two left-field names if we can call them that, one is Zirkzee and one is Santi Gimenez.

“Zirkzee is one to watch, Gimenez is one to watch and Jonathan David is a third name to throw into the mix because he was looked at under Paratici and Conte and we need to understand if they will return under the new recruitment team and Ange Postecoglou.”

The Canadian international has been linked with a move to Spurs as a potential replacement for Harry Kane since the summer.

Having delivered an outstanding performance last season with 26 goals across all competitions for Lille, David has been a consistent scorer, racking up 69 goals and providing 15 assists in 162 appearances since joining the Ligue 1 side in 2020.

He has entered the last 18 months of his contract, which means, Lille will be hoping to cash in on him in the summer in case he does not intend to sign a new contract.
