As the technical director, Lange will have a crucial role in overseeing ‘recruitment, analytics, and talent identification’ across both senior and academy teams at Tottenham.
He will work closely with the club’s Chief Football Officer, Scott Munn, who himself recently joined the club.
Munn said about the new appointment:
“Johan has demonstrated an excellent track record of scouting and signing many talented and successful youth and senior players. He is a welcome addition as we strengthen our football operations.”
The seat left vacant by Fabio Paratici has finally been filled. Paratici left his role as the club director after being charged by for financial fraud while at Juventus.
The ban that was initially limited to footballing activities in Italy was extended worldwide by FIFA. Paratici reportedly continued to work as a consultant to Tottenham until very recently.
Johan Lange brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having spent nearly a decade at Copenhagen in various capacities before joining Aston Villa in 2020. He also had a brief stint at Wolverhampton Wanderers as an assistant manager.
Tottenham currently sits at the top of the Premier League table, making Lange’s arrival an opportune moment for the club as they aim to continue their strong start to the season.
