Unhappy Tottenham player ‘proposed’ to Euro giants for just £17 million

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to part ways with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg for just £17 million.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has gone down the pecking order at Tottenham and his future at the club has been uncertain for a while. According to a report by Calciomercato, the Danish international has been ‘proposed’ to AC Milan for just £17 million.

Højbjerg arrived at Spurs back in the summer of 2020 after proving himself in the English top flight with Southampton. He was an integral part of their first team over the years. But, a lot has changed since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou.

The 28-year-old midfielder’s game time has taken a major hit under the Australian. Throughout the ongoing season, he has been involved in 32 matches but he has only racked up just over 1,200 minutes of first-team action. Højbjerg is not happy with his game time and is looking to part ways in search of regular first-team action.

With his contract running out in the summer of 2025, the upcoming window could be Spurs’ last opportunity to raise significant funds from his transfer. As per the report, AC Milan have been presented with the opportunity to sign the Danish star.

Can AC Milan help get Hojbjerg’s career back on track?

The Italian giants have relaunched the careers of quite a few players in the recent years and they are always on the lookout for opportunities to sign quality players for bargain prices. They have a chance to sign Højbjerg for just £17 million with the player keen on parting ways with the London club.

Unique Sports Group who manage the interest of Milan defender Malick Thiaw have presented the Italian giants with this opportunity. While it is not a priority for them at this stage, things could change with the summer transfer window fast approaching.
