Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Bologna striker Joshua, Zirkzee.
The 22-year-old has been linked with clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal. A report from Milan Live claims that Tottenham are among the teams ‘most active’ in the race to sign the Dutchman at the end of the season.
It is no secret that Tottenham need to bring in a reliable goalscorer and Zirkzee would be a solid acquisition. The 22-year-old has 10 goals and six assists across all competitions this season. He has proven himself to be a reliable attacker in the Italian league and he has the technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well.
Spurs need more depth in the attack and the 22-year-old could be a long-term addition for them. He is still quite young and Zirkzee is likely to improve further with coaching and experience. There is no doubt that he could develop into a reliable Premier League attacker with the right guidance. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign the player.
The north London outfit are currently pushing for Champions League qualification and they will feel that they have a good chance of attracting top talents around Europe in the summer. They are certainly better placed than Manchester United to sign the player. The Red Devils could easily miss out on Champions League qualification, and Zirkzee might be more keen on joining a club with Champions League football next season.
As far as Arsenal are concerned, they have Gabriel Jesus as the first choice striker at the club. Zirkzee might not want to be a squad player. Tottenham might be able to offer him regular opportunities. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
