Tottenham might have the upper hand in the race to sign 11-goal attacker

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Genoa winger Albert Gudmundsson in recent weeks.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form for the Italian club, scoring 11 goals across all competitions. Naturally, he’s being linked with the big clubs and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham decide to make a move for him at the end of the season.

Tottenham recently signed Radu Dragusin from the Italian club and it is fair to assume that they might have an amicable relationship with the club and that could help them sign Gudmundsson as well.

Dragusin’s agent Florin Manea has now revealed that the two agents who worked on the Dragusin transfer to Tottenham represent Gudmundsson. Apparently, the Iceland international winger wants to work with Manea as well. Tottenham’s connections with these agents could give them a major advantage in the race to sign the player at the end of the season.

He said (h/t Pro Sport): “Gudmundsson told me that he would like to collaborate, that he was envious of my relationship with Dragusin. I told him to relax, that we are already collaborating since he is with Valerio and Gabriele (the agents who worked on the Dragusin deal as well).”

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few months.

Tottenham have an impressive unit at their disposal but they need to add more depth to the squad in order to truly compete for major trophies on a consistent basis. Signing a versatile attacker who is capable of operating on both flanks as well as a central attacking midfielder would be a wise decision.

He will add goals and creativity to their side. He is excellent when it comes to taking on defenders and beating them in one versus one situations. His trickery and unpredictability will add a new dimension to the Tottenham attack.
