Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at Barcelona, and they have an option to sign him permanently.
However, the Spanish outfit has not yet triggered the clause. Naturally, he is being linked with a move to other clubs as well. According to a report from the publication SPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on his situation and could look to make a move for him.
The report claims that they have ‘genuine interest’ in signing the Manchester United attacker.
Barcelona have an option to sign him for €30 million, and Tottenham certainly have the financial resources to pay that. It will be interesting to see if the Spanish club is prepared to make the move permanent in the coming weeks. If they decide against it, Rashford could be an excellent addition for Tottenham.
Tottenham could use Marcus Rashford
They need a dynamic attacker like him who can slot anywhere across the front three. The England international has been outstanding in Spain, registering 13 goals and 13 assists for Barcelona this season.
He has been hailed by his teammates this season as well.
“After a few training sessions, no. He has huge potential,” Lewandowski said to Sky Sports. “He has everything. He has speed, he has technique, he has a shot, he has left foot, right foot, and skills. Marcus is the guy, if you give him confidence and he sees that you believe in him, he can give you back 200 per cent.”
Rashford could transform Spurs
The 28-year-old is at the peak of his career, and he knows the Premier League well. He could settle in quickly and make an immediate impact at Tottenham if he joins the club. However, the North London outfit will need to secure safety in the Premier League in order to convince a player like him to join the club.
They need more depth in the attacking unit if they want to do well next season. Rashford could be the ideal acquisition for them.
