Cristian Romero has been linked with the move away from Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season, and former player Paul Robinson believes that he could be sold in the summer.
Robinson has revealed to Football Insider that there is a chance of a new manager coming in at Tottenham and he could look to sell Romero in order to fund a rebuild during the summer transfer window.
“Romero, I think he’s had a poor season – [if] I’m a new manager coming in and somebody offers me a big offer for Cristian Romero, I’m taking it, and I’m using it to buy another centre half and strengthen the squad elsewhere.”
It is no secret that Tottenham need to bring in multiple quality signings during the summer window. It has been a disappointing season for them, and they need to sort out multiple weaknesses in the squad.

They should look to invest in a reliable goal-scorer, a dynamic winger, a defensive midfielder, and another reliable central defender.
Tottenham will need to raise funds in order to make these signings, and Romero could help with that. The South American has been linked with clubs like Real Madrid, and he could look to move on in the summer. He will hope to win major trophies at the club level and Tottenham will not be able to fulfil his ambitions right now.
