Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou ‘keen’ on January move for versatile PL ace

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur continues to be linked with the move for the Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly.

The 25-year-old has been a useful player for Bournemouth and it remains to be seen whether the North London outfit can secure his services.

Kelly is versatile enough to operate as a central defender as well as a fullback. He could prove to be a quality option for Ange Postecoglou. A report from TeamTalk claims that the Tottenham manager is ‘keen’ on signing the versatile defender in January.

Tottenham certainly have the financial resources to get the deal done. The opportunity to join a big club will be an enticing prospect for the player as well.

Tottenham signed Micky Van de Ven and Ashley Phillips during the summer transfer window, but they are still lacking in depth at the back. Signing another central defender in January could sort out their defensive problems and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Kelly has been linked with other Premier League clubs as well and Spurs need to move quickly if they want to secure his signature.

The North London outfit have started the season well and they will look to get back into the Champions League. If they can plug the gaps in their squad during the January transfer window, there is no reason why they cannot finish the season strongly.

Postecoglou has managed to get the best out of his players so far, but he will need backing in the market. Tottenham should look to sign a quality striker during the January window as well.
