Tottenham Hotspur attacker Timo Werner has been linked with a move away from the club in January.

However, a report from Give Me Sport claims that the North London club are not prepared to let him leave midway through the season and they are refusing to rule out the possibility of making the loan move permanent.

Initially, it was expected that Werner would return to his parent club upon the expiry of his loan deal after failing to make his mark in the Premier League with Tottenham. It seems that the North London club have now changed their stance regarding his future.

Ange Postecoglou feels that he could be a valuable member of the squad. The German international is versatile enough to operate in a number of attacking roles and his versatility is an added bonus. However, the player earns around £200,000 per week at Tottenham and he needs to perform at a high level in order to justify those wages.

The report further claims that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the Club Bruges winger Andreas Skov Olsen as a potential alternative if they decide to part ways with Werner. They have made regular checks on Olsen and they are keeping track of his progress.

Olsen would be a quality long-term addition to Tottenham and he will add pace, flair and unpredictability to the Tottenham attack if he joins the club. The 24-year-old will certainly be excited to join a Premier League club and it would be a major step up in his career. He would get to test himself against top-quality players in the Premier League and regular exposure to English football could accelerate his development.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
