Tottenham make U-turn on transfer strategy after being impressed by two players

Tottenham appear to have altered their transfer plans as the summer window approaches its final days.

Initially, the club had prioritised the signing of a top-quality, seasoned midfielder, with the likes of Conor Gallagher, Eberechi Eze and Jacob Ramsey strongly linked with a move.

But it is now being reported that the Spurs have decided to place their trust in their promising young talents instead, particularly Archie Gary and Lucas Bergvall.

Gray, who joined Tottenham earlier this summer from Leeds United for a fee believed to be around £40 million, and Bergvall have both impressed during pre-season and training. Their performances have reportedly led Spurs to reconsider their initial approach.

According to The Athletic, the club has been so encouraged by the potential of Gray and Bergvall that they are now opting to forgo their plans to sign an experienced all-action midfielder.

With this new strategy, Tottenham supporters can look forward to seeing the duo play pivotal roles in the team’s journey through the Premier League this season.

TBH Says:

While Bergvall and Archie Gray are incredible, they are still young and raw. Tottenham deciding against signing an experienced midfielder may not be the best of decisions. Not going after the likes of Conor Gallagher, Eze, or Ramsey could come back to haunt us.
