Tottenham have enquired about Ruben Neves, and they could look to make a move for him in the near future.

The 28-year-old Portuguese International wants to return to English football, and he feels that he has unfinished business in the Premier League. However, his wages could be a major issue. The player currently earns around £353,000 a week, and he will need to accept a major pay cut in order to seal a return to England.

Spurs could use Ruben Neves

Tottenham need someone who can control the tempo of the game from the deep, and the Portuguese international would be ideal for them. His ability to score goals with his long-range shooting will add a new dimension to the team as well.

He has played in the Premier League with Wolves in the past, and he will be able to adapt quickly and make an instant impact. They have already seen the benefit of signing a quality defensive midfielder in Joao Palhinha, and the arrival of Neves could complete their midfield unit.

Tottenham have quality young players at their disposal, but they need more experience in order to compete at the highest level right now. The Portuguese international will add proven quality, experience, and leadership skills to the team.

Other clubs keen on Neves

As per Fichajes, Manchester United and Newcastle United are interested in the player as well. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat them to his signature. Al-Hilal might not be too keen on letting the player leave in January, but they will be under pressure if the midfielder decides to force an exit.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops. Tottenham have had a mixed start to the season, and they need quality additions in January if they want to have a successful campaign.
