Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Belgian defender Koni De Winter from Italian club Genoa.
The 22-year-old joined the Italian club at the start of the season and he has been quite impressive with his performances. According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham have moved to ask for information regarding the versatile defender, and they could look to make a move for him in the summer.
The player is valued at €30 million and Spurs will face competition from Premier League rivals, Manchester United.
The Brazilian defender is highly rated across Europe and he could prove to be a quality acquisition. There is no doubt that Spurs need more depth in the defensive unit and signing a versatile player like him would be a wise decision. Even though he is a central defender, he is versatile enough to operate as a full back. He has the technical ability to operate in multiple roles.
The defender has previously been described as a tactically intelligent player, and has the technique to match. He could develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance, and asking price seems quite reasonable as well.
Fabrizio Lioi, his agent said in the past: “Koni is a central defender in all respects, I think he will be when he has a permanent position at Juve or at another club. He is tactically intelligent, he is good technically, he has pace, so he can play as a full-back”.

Meanwhile, Manchester United need more depth at the back and it is no surprise that they are keen on the 22-year-old. He would be a long-term investment for them, and he could be an important player for the club.
De Winter has the physical and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League and clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham will be attractive destinations for him. He will look to prove himself at the highest level, and the two English clubs could provide him with the platform.
Both clubs have the resources to get the deal done and it remains to be seen where he ends up eventually.
