Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to sign Timo Werner permanently at the end of the season.

The German International is currently on loan at the North London club and Tottenham have an option to extend his deal beyond the summer. However, a report from Give Me Sport claims that he is likely to depart the club during the summer transfer window after an unsuccessful 18-month loan spell.

He has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at Tottenham and his performances have been rather underwhelming. It would be ideal for him to move on and join another club in the summer. The German International will be desperate to get his career back on track with regular football and he is unlikely to get those opportunities at Tottenham.

Furthermore, if Tottenham ends up signing Mathys Tel permanently in the summer, the German will fall further down the pecking order at the club. It would be ideal for all parties to go their separate ways.

Werner is unlikely to stay at his parent club RB Leipzig next season. He is already unwanted at the Bundesliga club, and he will need to leave them permanently. It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.

He has previously shown his quality in German football, and there is no doubt that he could be a quality acquisition for the right club. The 28-year-old is still very much at the peak of his powers, and he could be a very useful acquisition.

Werner has 24 goals for Germany in 57 appearances and he has proven himself for club and country in the past. He is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three and he could be the ideal utility man in the right team.
