Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the French international midfielder Adrien Rabiot at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old is expected to leave Juventus on a free transfer after the two parties have failed to secure an agreement over a new deal.
Rabiot has established himself as a reliable performer in European football and he should prove to be a quality acquisition for the North London club. Tottenham need someone who can control the tempo of the game from the deep. The French international would be the ideal fit for them.
Signing a player of his ability on a free transfer would be a major coup as well. A report from HITC claims that Tottenham have already made contact with the player’s representatives and it remains to be seen whether they can convince him to join.
Tottenham will face competition from Premier League rivals, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Arsenal need to bring in a quality midfielder as well. They will have to replace Thomas Partey at the end of the season and RFabiot could prove to be an upgrade on the Ghana international.
At Liverpool, Thiago Alcantara will be a free agent in the summer and Liverpool will have to replace him adequately. Rabiot will add control and physicality in the middle of the park. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can secure his services on a free transfer.
The French international has proven his quality with club and country in recent seasons. He could look to take on a new challenge at this stage of his career and a move to the Premier League will certainly be a tempting proposition for him.
