Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of attacking midfielders in recent months and the latest name linked with a move to the London club is that of Harvey Barnes.
The 25-year-old Leicester City midfielder could be on his way out of the club in the summer and Tottenham are reportedly long-term admirers of the player. A report from Football Insider claims that the midfielder is valued at £50 million.
Barnes can operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. He could prove to be the ideal acquisition for Tottenham as they look to add more creativity and goals to their side.
Tottenham have struggled to break down stubborn defences in the past, and someone like Barnes could fix that problem for them. The Leicester City star is well-settled in the Premier League and he has been a reliable performer in the top flight over a number of seasons.
The 25-year-old has 10 goals in the league this season and he could add some much-needed craft and goals to the Spurs midfield.
The North London giants will need a player like him if they want to compete for major trophies.
Star striker Harry Kane would certainly benefit from a player who will create ample goalscoring opportunities and Barnes certainly fits the profile.
Tottenham have been linked with his teammate James Maddison as well.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get a deal for the Premier League midfielder across the line.
