Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.
The 28-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at Manchester City and the Premier League giants are prepared to cash in on him at the end of the season.
Laporte has made just 16 appearances across all competitions and he is hoping to leave the club in search of regular football. A report from 90 min claims that Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign the experienced defender at the end of the season.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham take up the opportunity to sign him in the summer.
The north London club Clement Lenglet on a dry loan and the Frenchman is expected to return to his parent club at the end of the season. Spurs will have to replace immediately and bring in a reliable partner for Cristian Romero.
Laporte has proven himself in the Premier League for the years and he has won multiple domestic trophies with Manchester City including the league title last season. He would be an upgrade on Lenglet and he could prove to be a solid acquisition for Tottenham at a bargain.
Given his standing in the squad, Manchester City are unlikely to demand the premium for him.
The opportunity to play regular football for another top Premier League club could be an exciting option for Laporte and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a deal.
Apparently, Paris Saint-Germain are keen on the player as well and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
