Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Barcelona attacker Vitor Roque.
The Brazilian forward joined Barcelona from Athletico Paranaense in January for a fee of around £52 million. However, he has failed to hold down a regular starting spot at the Spanish club.
Roque needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and a loan move would be ideal for him. He has started just twice in the Spanish league this season and he has two league goals to his name.
According to a report from TBR Football, intermediaries have now reached out to clubs like Tottenham to inform them that the player could be available on loan at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for the 19-year-old in the summer.
It is no secret that the North London outfit will need to add more depth and quality to their squad. Signing Roque on loan would help them add more quality to the side without spending a substantial amount of money.
Meanwhile, clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United have been alerted about his availability as well.
It will be interesting to see where the young attacker ends up. He needs to join a club where he will get ample game time. Tottenham could certainly provide him with the platform next season. Their attacking philosophy would be a good fit for the player as well. Regular football at Tottenham could accelerate his development and help him improve.
The opportunity to join a top Premier League club will be quite attractive for the 19-year-old as well. He is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three, and he will add goals and creativity to the Tottenham attack.
