Loïs Openda’s exceptional performances for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga have put him on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.
The North London club are looking to reinforce their squad ahead of next season. Ange Posetcoglou did a great job in his first season at Tottenham as he guided them back to Europe. But, he is now looking to make necessary changes to help them compete with the best teams in the country.
The board is expected to back the Australian manager in the upcoming window as he looks to add more firepower to his attack. They might have managed to go through the 2023/24 season without signing a Harry Kane replacement but are now ready to go all out for a new world-class number nine.
According to Dean Jones via GiveMeSport, RB Leipzig star Lois Openda is a top target for Spurs heading into the transfer window. The 24-year-old striker has taken his game to another level since joining the German club last summer.
In his debut season for Leipzig, Openda contributed towards 35 goals (28 goals, 7 assists) in his 45 outings. His exceptional performances in front of goal have put him on the wishlist of the North London club. The Belgian international could be an ideal signing for Spurs.
The former RC Lens forward will add pace to the Spurs attack and he has an eye for goal as well. His ability to feature up top as well as on the flanks could be a huge boost for Postecoglou’s team.
However, with his contract at Leipzig running until the summer of 2028, prising him away from Germany will not be an easy task for Tottenham. They might have to pay a premium in order to get the deal done.
