The Portuguese left-back is capable of operating in a more advanced role as well, and his versatility could be a bonus for Tottenham if they decide to sign him. The report claims that Chelsea are holding out for a fee of around €28 million for him.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay up. They could certainly use more depth in the left-back position. Destiny Udogie has been inconsistent this season, and he has also struggled with injury problems. More depth in that area of the pitch would be ideal.
In addition to that, Veiga will want to play regularly at this stage of his career as well, and Chelsea have not been able to provide him with that opportunity. If Tottenham can promise him ample game time, the defender could be tempted to join them.
