Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori at the end of the season.
According to a report from Il Pallone Gonfiato, the defender is valued at €30 million and Tottenham are keen on securing his services during the summer transfer window.
The North London club are not keen on entering into a bidding war for the 21-year-old defender and they could look to pay his asking price and secure his services soon. The report states that Tottenham are ‘in a hurry’ to get the deal done.
Despite interest from other clubs, the North London outfit are ‘in the front row’ to sign the Italian defender and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can come to an agreement soon.
Calafiori is highly rated across Europe and he has a big future ahead of him. He could develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil tremendous potential as well.
Calafiori could be tempted to join Tottenham
Tottenham have an exciting project at their disposal and they will be hoping to challenge for major trophies in the coming seasons. They have a charismatic manager in Ange Postecoglou who has implemented an exciting brand of football since his arrival. He did well to nurture young players during his time at Celtic and he could be the ideal coach for Calafiori.
Tottenham certainly have the financial muscle to pay €30 million for the young defender and the investment could look like a bargain in the long term, if the 21-year-old manages to fulfil tremendous potential.
