Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.
According to a report from Caught Offside, Tottenham are keeping tabs on the England under-21 international and they could look to make a move for him in January. The striker is valued at €40 million, and it will be interesting to see if Spurs are willing to pay the asking price for him. The report states that Manchester United and Arsenal are keen on the player as well.
However, the report states that Tottenham are currently leading the race for his signature.
Delap is highly rated across England and he has a bright future. He could develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance. They could certainly use more depth in the attacking unit. They have spent a substantial amount of money on Dominic Solanke earlier this summer, but they need another attacker who can share the goal burden with the former Bournemouth star. Delap would be a quality long-term investment for them.
The former Manchester City Academy graduate has the ability to play for the biggest clubs in the country and the opportunity to move to Tottenham will be quite exciting for him. Ample opportunities at the North London club could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential.
Man United and Arsenal keen on Liam Delap
Meanwhile, Manchester United could use more depth in the attacking unit as well, and it is no surprise that they are looking at Delap. Joshua Zirkzee has not been able to hit the ground running in the Premier League and the Red Devils need more options. It will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for the Ipswich Town striker in January.
Similarly, Arsenal need more options as well. Gabriel Jesus has not been able to score goals regularly and Arsenal need a reliable goalscorer. Delap could be the ideal long-term replacement for the Brazilian international.
