Tottenham keeping tabs on €17m forward, signing presented as a ‘real possibility’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo.

The 20-year-old currently plays for Brazilian club Santos and he is highly rated in South America.

A report from Fichajes claims that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the talented young striker and his signing is a ‘real possibility’ in the coming windows.

The striker is reportedly valued at €17 million and a club with Tottenham’s resources certainly have the finances to sign him.

The North London outfit could certainly use more depth in the attacking department and Leonardo could be an understudy to Richarlison.

The Brazilian international has not been able to score goals consistently and more competition for places could help him improve as well.

The 20-year-old Brazilian striker could compete with Richarlison for the starting spot in the coming seasons. A move to the Premier League would accelerate his development and he would get to showcase his qualities at a high level.

The striker has been linked with other European clubs as well and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat the competition for his signature.

The report at €17 million valuation could look like a bargain in the long term if the player manages to adapt to English football and fulfil his tremendous potential. He could also end up saving millions in the transfer market for Tottenham.

Someone like Ange Postecoglou could be the ideal manager to nurture him into a first-team star.
