Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Argentine attacker Kevin Zenon.
The 23-year-old has done quite well for Boca Juniors and his performances have attracted the attention of Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle as per reports via LM Neuquen. However, all three clubs will have to pay his release clause to get the deal done.
The South American’s current release clause stands at around £10-12 million, and it is certainly affordable for all three clubs. Zenon is capable of operating as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. He will add goals and creativity to the Tottenham attack if they can get the deal done.
For the reported asking price, he could prove to be a solid acquisition. If he manages to hit the ground running in English football and fulfil his his tremendous potential with them, the deal would look like a master stroke in the long term.
The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite exciting for the South American as well. He would get to play alongside his compatriot Cristian Romero at the North London club. Tottenham will be hoping to push for Champions League qualification and domestic trophies this season and they need more cutting edge in the final third. Someone like Zenon could add a new dimension to their attack and his arrival could lift the spirits around the club.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for the player when the transfer window reopens in January. The likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle are likely to pose strong competition for his signature and Tottenham need to act quickly if they want to win the race.
