Tottenham keen on 51-yr-old manager, Levy eyeing two signings to appease him

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of managers in recent months.

Antonio Conte will be a free agent in the summer and the London club have not managed to agree on a new deal with him yet.

However, reports claim that Daniel Levy wants to bring Mauricio Pochettino back to the club and the Spurs chairman is already planning to bring in two ambitious signings in order to appease the 51-year-old Argentine manager.

According to German publication BILD (h/t Teamtalk), Tottenham could make a move for the RB Leipzig defender Josko  Gvardiol and the Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt.

The 21-year-old Croatian defender is regarded as one of the most promising defensive talents in world football and he has been outstanding for club and country over the past year.

It is no secret that Tottenham need to bring in a quality partner for Cristian Romero and Gvardiol could prove to be a sensational long-term signing for them.

Meanwhile, Brandt will enter the final year of his contract in the summer and he has been linked with a move away from the German club. Tottenham need to bring in a quality attacking midfielder who will help break down deep defences and create more opportunities for players like Harry Kane. The German midfielder is versatile enough to play in the wide areas as well and he could prove to be a superb option.

Apparently, Gvardiol will be available for a fee of around £88 million. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to break the bank for him. As far as Brandt is concerned, the player will be in the final year of his contract in the summer and he could be signed up for a reasonable price.
