Tottenham join the race to sign £20m playmaker from London rivals

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after falling down the pecking order at the London club.

Apparently, Paris Saint-Germain came close to signing the player during the January transfer window and he is said to move on in the summer.

A report from Football Insider claims that Tottenham have now registered a surprise interest in signing the Moroccan international. There is no doubt that Spurs need to add more creativity in the final third and Ziyech would be a useful option for them.

However, the 30-year-old has not been able to hit top form since he moved to the Premier League and he could prove to be an underwhelming edition before the north London club.

Ziyech was quite impressive for his country in the recently concluded World Cup and it seems that he is struggling to adapt to English football. Tottenham should look to make a move for someone younger with higher potential.

Apparently, Ziyech could be available for a fee of around £20 million during the summer transfer window. Clubs like West Ham United and Fulham are keen on signing the midfielder as well.

It will be interesting to see if the 30-year-old Moroccan international is prepared to continue in the Premier League and move to Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham in the summer.

The player is yet to make an appearance for Chelsea since February and he is clearly not a part of their first-team plans anymore.
