Tottenham join rivals in the race to sign star with 28 goal contributions this season

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keen on signing the Lille striker Jonathan David.

The 24-year-old Canadian international has been in fine form and four other Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on him as well. Tottenham reportedly admire the Ligue 1 striker and they could look to make a move for him at the end of the season.

David has done quite well this season, scoring 21 goals across all competitions. He has picked up seven assists along the way as well. The 24-year-old is still relatively young and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. Spurs could certainly use someone like him, and it will be interesting to see if they can win the race for his signature.

Apart from Tottenham, other English clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and West Ham are interested in the Canadian, according to HITC.

The opportunity to join a club like Tottenham will be quite exciting for the attacker. It will be a step up in his career and he would get to showcase his qualities in the Premier League.

Spurs have done quite well this season, but they need more cutting-edge in the attack if they want to win major trophies. A reliable goalscorer should be one of the priorities in the summer and the interest in David is hardly a surprise. The 24-year-old could transform them going forward, and he could be the ideal long-term replacement for club legend, Harry Kane.

It remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with Lille for the 24-year-old striker soon.
