Tottenham Hotspur’s recently signed defender Radu Dragusin may be on his way out of the club this summer.
Napoli are reportedly interested in acquiring the Romanian centre-back during the upcoming transfer window.
According to the Italian news outlet Il Mattino via Calcio Napoli, the Serie A giants, who previously tried to sign Dragusin from Genoa but lost out to Spurs, are considering pursuing him again.
Since his arrival in January, Dragusin has expressed concerns about his limited game time under manager Ange Postecoglou, prompting speculation about his future.
Dragusin joined Tottenham on a six-year contract for a transfer fee of €25 million, plus an additional €5 million in add-ons.
Despite being a long-pursued target for Spurs, the 22-year-old has made only 9 Premier League appearances, starting in just 4 games.
The lack of starting opportunities has fuelled rumours about Dragusin’s potential departure from North London.
His agent has indicated that if the former Juventus youth player is not likely to become a regular starter, they would explore other options, such as Napoli, where he might get regular playing time.
While Postecoglou did start Dragusin in the last two league games of the season against Manchester City and Sheffield, the Romanian international might feel overshadowed by the established duo of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
It will be interesting to see how this situation unfolds, as Tottenham certainly values Dragusin, evidenced by their efforts to secure his signature over Bayern Munich.
The upcoming transfer window will reveal whether Dragusin’s future lies with the Lilywhites or if he returns to Serie A to ply his services for Napoli this time.
