Tottenham ‘interested’ in 27-year-old star Thierry Henry believes is ‘just outstanding’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

The 27-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Italians of the season and his heroics in the Champions League have attracted a lot of praise in recent weeks. As per Fichajes, Tottenham and Arsenal are both ‘interested’ in him.

Former Premier League legend Thierry Henry has recently branded the French international as an outstanding player. Maignan is one of the main reasons why AC Milan have made it to the semifinals of the Champions League after several years.

Following Milan’s win over Napoli in the first leg, Henry said (h/t HITC): “For me, this goalkeeper, is just outstanding. I have been saying that for a very long time. He was at the academy of Paris Saint-Germain, they didn’t want to keep him. He is an outstanding goalkeeper. If it wasn’t for Mike Maignan, then it might have been a 1-1 game. If that game was 1-1, the no-one could have said that it wasn’t right.”

The French international is undoubtedly one of the best keepers in the world right now and he could prove to be a sensational addition to the Tottenham side. The North London giants are looking to bring in a quality replacement for Hugo Lloris.

The 36-year-old French international has dropped a number of error-prone performances this season as he has cost his side valuable points. Tottenham will have to bring in an upgrade if they want to compete for major trophies and Maignan could transform them.

The 27-year-old is at the peak of his career, and he could make an immediate impact at the Premier League club next season.

It will be interesting to see if the North London giants can convince him to join them at the end of the season.

It is fair to assume that Spurs will have to secure Champions League qualification in order to attract players of his quality.
