Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez.

As per TBR Football, the 20-year-old has done quite well for the Belgian club and clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea are keen on him as well. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can win the race for his signature.

They have three reliable central defenders at their disposal and they need to add more depth in that area of the pitch. Signing the highly-rated youngster could prove to be a solid investment for the London club. They need to improve their squad in order to fight for trophies in the coming season and compete in the Champions League regularly.

Ordonez is a highly talented defender with a bright future and he could develop into a key player for Tottenham. If they can sign him for a reasonable price, the 20-year-old could justify the investment in the near future.

The young defender could be tempted to move to the Premier League and clubs like Tottenham will be an attractive destination. They could provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities in English football and fight for trophies. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his world-class potential.

Chelsea and Liverpool are in need of defensive reinforcements as well. Both clubs have the financial muscle to get the deal done and they are well-placed to secure Champions League qualification for the next season. That could give them an advantage in the race to sign the South American defender. It will be interesting to see if they can get the deal across the line.

The young defender needs to join a club where he will get regular opportunities. Sitting on the bench at a big club is unlikely to benefit him. He must seek gametime assurances before making a move.
