Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Genoa attacker Albert Gudmundsson.
The 26-year-old Icelandic attacker has been in fine form for the Italian club and he has scored 11 goals across all competitions this season so far.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are in pole position to secure his services and they will face competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
The 26-year-old can operate as a centre forward as well as a wide forward. He could prove to be a quality acquisition for the North London club as they look to beef up their attacking options.
Tottenham need more depth in their squad in order to compete for major trophies next season and Gudmundsson would be a solid acquisition for them. He has proven his quality in the Italian league and he certainly good enough to thrive in English football.
The Icelandic international is at the peak of his career right now and he will relish the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat the competition from Newcastle and get the deal done.
Genoa believe that offers of around €30 million could arrive at the end of the season for the 26-year-old attacker. It will be interesting to see if they are prepared to sanction is departure for that price.
Tottenham certain have the financial muscle to pay €30 million and they have an existing relationship with the Italian club. Having worked on the Radu Dragusin transfer with them in January.
