Tottenham are front-runners for the services of Chelsea target Patrick Dorgu.
Multiple top clubs were keen on signing Patrick Dorgu during the recently concluded summer transfer window. While Lecce managed to keep hold of the Danish sensation for now, the Italian giants are well aware of the increasing interest in his services. The teenager could be on the move in 2025 and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness, Tottenham are in pole position to sign the FC Nordsjaelland academy product.
Dorgu was promoted to the Italian club’s first team last summer and he ended up featuring in 34 matches. His consistent performance along with his ability to feature in any role on either flank have resulted in a lot of interest in his services. The 19-year-old recently scored on his Denmark debut further enhancing his reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in Serie A.
Tottenham are one of the clubs who were strongly linked with the teenager during the summer. While reports suggest that the Italian club’s asking price of around €30 million was a touch on the higher side for interested clubs during the summer, the value has now gone up to €40 million. Despite that Spurs are believed to be leading the race for the services of the youngster who could feature anywhere on the flanks.
The North London club have been focused on signing young stars under Ange Postecoglou and they might not want to miss out on Dorgu who has the potential to reach great heights. Lecces are pushing for a new deal and have already informed the player’s agents about their desire.
While Spurs have been keen on his signature for a while now, Chelsea have revived their interest in his services and could challenge Tottenham to his signature. The Blues’ new project revolves around having the best young players from across the globe and Dorgu certainly seems to be an ideal fit for them.
Ben Chilwell has fallen out of favour at Chelsea and they need to replace him. Dorgu would be the ideal alternative and he could compete with Marc Cucurella for the starting spot.
