Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with a move for the Morocco international midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
A report from Foot Mercato claims that the north London club have a ‘strong interest’ in signing the 26-year-old at the end of the season. However, the player dreams of joining the Spanish club Barcelona instead.
Tottenham need to add more quality and depth to their squad in order to challenge for trophies and Amrabat would be a superb acquisition.
The Moroccan international is at the peak of his powers right now and his performances in the World Cup have shown that he is capable of succeeding in the Premier League.
Tottenham could certainly use a player like him who will add power, aggression and defensive cover to the midfield. Apart from his qualities as a midfielder, he came across as a leader of his side in the World Cup and Tottenham could use his leadership qualities as well.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince the player to move to north London and snub the approach from other clubs. The Premier League side are currently without a long-term manager and they will have to sort out a proper replacement for Antonio Conte first. That 26-year-old midfielder is unlikely to join a club without stability.
In addition to that, Tottenham must look to finish in the top four as well. Amrabat will want to play in the Champions League next season.
