Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
The 31-year-old Croatian international has been an important player for Inter Milan since joining the club and he has excelled for his country in the last two World Cups as well.
The £184k-a-week star is a proven performer at the highest level and Tottenham could certainly use his quality and experience.
Tottenham need to add more depth to their midfield and Antonio Conte would do well to sign his former player. A report from Fichajes claims that Spurs have ‘shown interest’ in Brozovic and the Italian manager ‘knows him well’.
The Londoners have not been able to rotate the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur on a consistent basis and signing players like Brozovic would allow them to do just that.
The 31-year-old has the quality and the experience to start for a club like Tottenham and he has the ability to succeed in the Premier League as well. He is at the stage of his career where he is unlikely to get many opportunities to join top clubs and the chance to showcase his qualities in the Premier League could be an attractive option for him.
Furthermore, the 31-year-old is unlikely to cost a premium given his age and profile. The move could prove to be a solid investment from Tottenham and it would help them add the necessary depth and experience needed to compete on all fronts next season.
It will be interesting to see if Antonio Conte can persuade his former club to sell the 31-year-old midfielder to Tottenham at the end of the season.
