Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Genoa attacker Albert Gudmundsson at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has done quite well for the Italian of the season and naturally, his performances have attracted the attention of the top clubs.
A report from Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that Inter Milan and Juventus have both made enquiries for the player but they are not the only clubs keen on the Icelandic attacker. Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur have ‘obtained information’ for the player ahead of a potential move as well.
Gudmundsson is versatile enough to operate as a centre forward as well as a winger on either flank. He could prove to be a useful acquisition for Tottenham who prefer versatile attackers.
The Genoa star has 12 goals and four assists in all competitions this season and his numbers are likely to improve when he’s playing in a better team alongside better players. Tottenham’s attacking approach could bring out the best in him as well.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to come forward with an official approach to sign the attacker. The report from Gazzetta claims that Spurs will have to pay €30 million in order to get the deal done. It is fair to assume that Tottenham have to financial muscle to pay the reported asking price and it remains to be seen whether they can secure his signature now.
A move to the Premier League will be an exciting opportunity for the player as well, and he will look to prove himself in English football.
