Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Manchester United are long-term admirers of the 29-year-old England international but Tottenham have now made a decision regarding his future.
Apparently, the London club are unwilling to sell the player regardless of where they finish in the league table.
There have been rumours that Kane could look to leave the club if Tottenham failed to secure Champions League qualification.
The striker has a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2024 and the Premier League club could be under pressure to consider a potential sale if he refuses to sign an extension with them. They will not want to lose a player of his quality on a free transfer in 2024.
However, Tottenham are determined to get the deal over the line and they are being patient as far as contract talks are concerned.
It remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old is prepared to commit his long-term future to his boyhood club.
Kane is at the stage of his career where he will feel that he needs to join a club capable of winning major trophies and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. Manchester United are certainly better positioned to challenge for trophies right now.
Furthermore, the future of Antonio Conte could play a key role in Kane’s decision to sign a new contract as well.
The Italian will be out of contract in the summer and if Tottenham manage to extend his deal, it would send the right statement regarding their ambition to their key players.
