Tottenham are looking to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana as a replacement for Hugo Lloris.
The 27-year-old has been outstanding for the Italian club this season and his performances in the Champions League have impressed Tottenham. A report from SempreInter claims that the north London giants have now made an enquiry for the Cameroon goalkeeper.
There have been rumours that the goalkeeper is valued at €50 million and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to pay that kind of money for him.
Onana has helped Inter Milan reach the finals of the UEFA Champions League this season.
Lloris has been largely underwhelming this season and he needs to be replaced as the first-choice goalkeeper. The Frenchman has a contract with the summer of 2024 but he is not good enough to start for them regularly. He could still be a useful player for Tottenham as a rotation option but the Premier League side must look to invest in a quality goalkeeper.
Inter Milan signed Onana on a free transfer and selling him for €50 million would represent a massive profit. It remains to be seen whether the Italian giants are prepared to cash in on him for a more reasonable price.
Apparently, the Italian giants are going through a financial crisis and they will be forced into a sale this summer.
Onana has shown his qualities in Italy and he could be tempted to make his mark in the Premier League now. A move to Spurs would be an excellent next step in his career and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
