Tottenham remain keen on signing the Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze.

The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the North London club during the summer transfer window, but a move did not materialise. Crystal Palace were holding out for a fee of around £60 million for the player.

It seems that Tottenham have not given up on him and they could look to return for him in the near future. According to Give Me Sport, they are now putting future recruitment plans in place and the Englishman remains on their radar. He has a release clause of £68 million in his contract, and Spurs will have to pay close to that in order to get the deal done.

Eze can operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. He will add goals and creativity to the Spurs attack. Although the London club have a similar player in James Maddison, they could certainly use more depth in that area. Maddison has been quite inconsistent and the competition for places would be ideal.

Meanwhile, the Crystal Palace star is likely to be attracted to the idea of joining the North London club. He would get to compete in European football with them and fight for trophies. It would be a step up in his career. He will feel that he has proven himself with the Eagles and he needs to join a bigger club in order to fulfil his ambitions.

However, the asking price could complicate matters. Crystal Palace will have to be more reasonable with their demands in order for the move to go through. Although there is no doubt that the 26-year-old is a quality player, he is yet to justify the £68 million price tag. Any club would hope to sign a world-class player for that kind of money.
