Tottenham have ‘begun to move’ pawns in the race to sign €45m South American

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Atalanta midfielder Ederson at the end of the season.

They have been linked with the Brazilian midfielder for a while and it seems that they will face competition from a number of Premier League rivals for the 24-year-old midfielder.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping tabs on his situation as well and a report from Tutto Atalanta claims that Tottenham have now ‘begun to move’ pawns in the transfer race which has been likened to a chess match.

The midfielder is likely to cost around €45 million and Spurs certainly have the means to afford him. They need to bring in a central midfielder who will add creativity and control to the side. The Brazilian has scored six goals this season and he could prove to be the ideal acquisition.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with an exit from the London club and Ederson could be his replacement. He has the attacking quality and technical attributes to be the ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s style of play.

A move to the Premier League will be an exciting step for him as well, and the 24-year-old will look to prove himself at the highest level. He is entering the peak years of his career and he will want to compete for major trophies.

Tottenham are pushing to secure Champions League qualification and they will be an attractive destination for the player at the end of the season.
