Tottenham have attacker ‘on their list’, 23-goal ace set to cost around €40-50 million

Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League.

Clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are reportedly keen on the player. A report via Voetbal4u claims that Tottenham have the attacker ‘on their list’ but they will have to pay a premium for him. The North London giants have not replaced Harry Kane yet, and they will need to bring in a quality striker soon.

Richarlison was expected to step up and fill the void left by the England international, but the Brazilian international has been largely underwhelming. He has failed to score goals consistently and the player is clearly lacking in confidence and form.

Signing another reliable finisher would be a wise decision and Gimenez could prove to be a superb acquisition. The 22-year-old Argentina striker helped Feyenoord win the Dutch league last season and he scored 23 goals across all competitions. He will look to take the next step in his career and moving to Tottenham would be an exciting option for him. The opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League can be hard to turn down.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay up for the South American. Apparently, Feyenoord could demand around €40-50 million for the talented young striker.

Martijn Krabbendam said: “I wouldn’t say twenty million euros. That’s heading towards 40, 50. There was already a lot of interest in him last summer. They are trying to make him Feyenoord’s record transfer.”

Spurs certainly have the finances to sign the player, especially after selling Harry Kane for a substantial amount of money. It will be interesting to see if Daniel Levy is willing to loosen his purse strings in January.
