Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Clement Lenglet this summer.
The 28-year-old defender was on loan at Spurs last season and he did reasonably well at the north London club.
There were rumours that Spurs could look to sign him permanently at the end of the season, but the Frenchman returned to Barcelona at the end of the season.
Spurs are now hoping to sign the player permanently for a knockdown price and a report from SPORT (h/t SportWitness) claims that a move could be done in ‘a matter of days’.
Lenglet already has an agreement in place with the Premier League club and he will be hoping to finalise the transfer soon.
Barcelona reportedly want €15 million for the player and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are willing to pay up.
Tottenham need to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer and Lenglet would be a useful addition for them.
Lenglet knows the club well and he should be able to slot in and make an immediate impact next season.
The Spanish outfit are under financial pressure and they need to get rid of their deadwood. Lenglet is unlikely to get regular game time at Camp Nou and a move away from Barcelona permanently would be ideal for all parties.
Ange Postecoglou needs more depth at the back and Spurs might need to sign more than just one central defender. Apart from Lenglet, Spurs have been linked with Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven as well.
