Tottenham Hotspur remain committed to nurturing young talent, with several academy prospects gaining valuable experience through loan spells across England.
One of the most impressive performers this season has been 19-year-old defensive midfielder George Abbott, who is currently on loan at Notts County in League Two.
Abbott has established himself as a key player for Notts County, and his latest display further highlighted his growing influence. He played a pivotal role in both goals during their 2-2 draw against Fleetwood Town, showcasing his ability to make an impact at both ends of the pitch.
The young midfielder opened the scoring in the 16th minute, reacting quickly to a defensive lapse from Fleetwood before driving forward and finishing confidently.

Although Notts County found themselves trailing by the 70th minute, Abbott came through in the crucial moments. In the 89th minute, he delivered a well-placed cross to the back post, providing Alassana Jatta with an easy tap-in to secure a hard-fought point.
Currently sitting fourth in the League Two standings, Notts County are pushing for promotion, and Abbott’s contributions have been instrumental in their campaign.
Abbott has been part of Tottenham’s system since the age of seven, progressing through the academy ranks before signing his first professional contract in March 2023. The following season, he captained Tottenham’s U21 squad to the Premier League 2 title before sealing a loan move to Notts County in August 2024.
This season, Abbott has been a consistent presence for his loan club, making 33 appearances in all competitions while recording five goals and five assists.
With his Spurs contract running until 2027, his experience in League Two will be invaluable. A future loan spell in the Championship or Premier League could further accelerate his development as he aims for a long-term role at Tottenham.
