Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso.
A report from Calciomercato claims that a number of clubs are keen on the 23-year-old left-back, but Tottenham are ‘first and foremost’ in the race to sign the player. Apparently, the North London club have been following the player and they could look to make their move in the coming months.
Juventus are prepared to sell the player for an offer of around €20-25 million and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done.
The North London outfit already have a quality left-back in Destiny Udogie and it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to invest in another full-back.
Cambiaso is capable of operating as the left-back as well as a wing-back. He has proven himself to be an important first-team player for the Italian club and there is no doubt that he would be a superb acquisition for Tottenham as well.
Spurs already have Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon at their disposal. It would be quite surprising if they decided to invest in another full-back without selling the two players.
They have other pressing needs right now and they should look to focus on signing a quality central defender and a striker first. Meanwhile, Cambiaso needs to join a club where he will get regular first-team football and a move to Tottenham might not be ideal for him.
