Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Marco Silva as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte.
Recent reports from the Sun have claimed that the 45-year-old Portuguese manager is on their shortlist to replace the Italian if he decides to move on at the end of the season.
Conte will be a free agent in the summer but Tottenham have the option to trigger a one-year extension in his contract.
Meanwhile, Silva has done an impressive job at Fulham this season and the Londoners have punched above their weight under his management. The Cottagers are currently eighth in the league table and they could push for European qualification.
Silva has shown his quality at clubs like Watford and Everton in the past and his appointment could be welcome news for Tottenham’s summer signing Richarlison.
The Portuguese manager was the one who signed the Brazilian international during his time at Watford and brought him to Everton later. Richarlison has previously revealed that he owes a great deal to the 45-year-old and he enjoys a great relationship with Silva as well.
“Marco Silva was the one who brought me here to England. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here today,” he said, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
“It was his request to sign me for Watford and he brought me here to Everton as well when he became manager. I remember it like it was yesterday, I was the first signing he asked for.
“I owe a great deal to Marco Silva, he trusted me and I trusted him, I think we had a great relationship and I was able to help him at both clubs.”
The 25-year-old has not been able to live up to the expectations since his £60 million move to Tottenham and the appointment of Silva could be beneficial for him. That 45-year-old managed to get the best out of the Brazilian at Watford and Everton. He could help the 25-year-old regain his form and confidence at Tottenham.
It remains to be seen how the situation develops and whether Tottenham are prepared to appoint him as their new manager in the coming months. Richarlison will be hoping to get back to his best soon and the opportunity to reunite with Silva at the London club is likely to excite him.
