Tottenham eyeing 26-year-old who has impressed for newly promoted PL side

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

A report from ESPN claims that Tottenham have identified the 26-year-old as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris, who has not been at his best this season.

The 36-year-old Frenchman has cost Tottenham with his error-prone performances and Henderson could prove to be a quality replacement.

Henderson is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest and he will need to leave Old Trafford permanently in order to play every week. Manchester United are reportedly looking at David Raya and Diogo Costa. Henderson could pick up the third-choice goalkeeper at the club if he stays.

Manchester United are currently holding contract talks with David De Gea, who is set to retain his place as the first-choice goalkeeper for now.

Moving to Tottenham will allow him to play more regularly and it will also boost his chances of forcing his way into the England setup ahead of the Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup.

He is not the only goalkeeper on Tottenham’s radar and the London club are thought to be keeping tabs on the Everton, star Jordan Pickford as well.

Henderson is likely to be a cheaper option for Tottenham and it will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a fee now. The 26-year-old will be desperate to prove himself at a big club, and Tottenham could provide him with the platform he needs.
