Tottenham have expressed interest in signing 21-year-old Premier League prodigy

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

Branthwaite’s impressive performances in the ongoing season have resulted in a lot of interest and multiple top clubs could knock on the Merseyside club’s door for his signature.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Tottenham are one of the clubs who have expressed interest in signing him.

Ange Postecoglou has had quite an impact on the Spurs squad. Their season might have derailed in the final weeks, but they have shown significant progress under the Australian boss who wants to reshape his side for the next season.

The North London club will look to make major changes to their squad ahead of next season. They are looking to further bolster their defence despite having made two important defensive signings over the last two windows. They have added Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin to their squad and are now looking to make another important defensive addition.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is on their radar. The 21-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Merseyside club on the back of an impressive loan spell at PSV Eindhoven. He has been in exceptional form and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

While the Toffees would ideally like to keep hold of their star, their financial situation could give Tottenham an opportunity. Everton have already suffered points deductions because of their financial situation and they could look to sell Branthwaite in order to balance the books.

Everton’s director of football Kevin Thelwell has already warned fans about potential player departures.

Branthwaite is a prodigious talent with a bright future and he could develop into a key player for Tottenham. He will certainly shore up Postecoglou’s defence and help them improve defensively.
